What to visit when sailing near Komiža

Blue Cave (Biševo)

Blue Cave is a water-logged sea cave situated in a small bay called Balun on the east side of the island of Biševo and about 4.5 Nm from Komiža. Yachtsmen can easily find it in the central Dalmatian archipelago, 5 km south-west of the island of Vis. This Blue Cave is one of the best known natural beauty spots on the Adriatic and a popular show cave because of the glowing blue light that appears at certain times of day. It is an ideal destination for all those who love to explore sea nature beauties, and are sailing in Komiža proximity. The cave receives more than 10,000 tourist visits every year, and there is also another similar cave in that region near the island which yachtsmen can visit, the Zelena špilja.

Budikovac anchorage

A small island of Budikovac, situated just opposite of the island of Vis, is an ideal spot for a real vacation. Budikovac offers a wonderful pebble beach, and the small bay, protected from the open sea, which is an attractive shelter for many yachtsmen who love to spend their vacations here. There is a shallow anchorage (around 2 m) and a beautiful lagoon for swimming on Budikovac, south-east of the island of Vis. This beautiful lagoon can be accessed from the south, between the islet of Mali Budikovac and the island of Budikovac. While sailing through the passage, it is recommended to stay closer to Mali Budikovac, because the Budikovac side has shallow rocks in the water.
